Labial Dental Alveolar Postalveolar Palatal Velar Uvular Glottal
Stop p t k q
Fricative f θ s ʃ x χ h
Nasal m n ŋ
Approximant w l j ɣ
Trill r ʀ

The phonemes /ɣ ʀ/ are an approximant and a trill, at least in terms of how they pattern. It is possible that /w/ will sometimes be realized as something closer to [v].

Vowels

Front Unrounded Front Rounded Back Unrounded Back Rounded
High i y u
Mid e ø o
Low æ a

Vowels can be short or long.

Orthography

IPA symbols and obvious digraphs, plus umlauts for the umlauted front vowels. The consonants /θ ʃ x χ ŋ ɣ ʀ/ will be written as <th sh kh x ng gh rh>; note especially that the velar and uvular fricatives are not written with their IPA symbols.

Notes

Original vowels are i e a o u, and maybe also ə. Umlaut then gets us æ ø y.

Original stress rule was just Polish-style 2nd last syllable. Long consonants exist, but not vowels.
